Making wine is understanding how to deal with nature and its peculiarities. In all modesty.
Weingut Tements wines belong to the upper league – nationally and internationally.
As pioneers of contemporary winemaking, the family winery knows precisely how to emphasize the diversity and uniqueness of their home, Southern Styria.
The winery is surrounded by the Zieregg vineyard, which offers an incredible view of vineyards in Southern Styria and neighboring Slovenia.
Armin, Stefan and  daughter-in-law Monika, work hand in hand with the parents. Grapes are harvested by hand at the perfect time, then spontaneously fermented.
Vinification and additional storing in the cellar happen separately in small parts, each vineyard, and parcel for itself. The winery works biodynamically has been part of the Demeter association since 2022, and is also a respekt-BIODYN group member.
Tement's international reputation is exceptional. The Styrian flagship winery is not only one of the few Falstaff ★★★★★ wineries, but also one of the best wineries in the world.
Kalk&Kreide Sauvignon Blanc

The grapes from the finest Sauvignon Blanc vineyards impart a unique terroir mix to the wine. Deeply rooted in mineral-rich chalk soils, it develops a fascinating chalky spiciness. After 6-24 hours of skin contact, this wine matured for 15 months on the lees after its spontaneous fermentation, in old large barrels as well as in stainless steel tanks. As wineries most important wine and thus its signature wine, it reflects not only the wine itself but also Tements philosophy, dedication, and origin. Here, tradition and innovation, attention to detail, and the uniqueness of the vineyards come together.

Everybody’s darling. It pairs well with a lot and with many. Yellow apples and white currant can be found on the nose, accompanied by a hint of exotic notes. On the palate, a tangy, juicy acidity, minerality, and an immense drinking flow.

This organic Gutswein comes from eight of our best single vineyards (12 plots in total), grown on loamy marl soil. The grapes were selectively harvested by hand and impressively reflect their south Styrian origin. The ideal ripeness of the grapes and a fruity and lively body characterize this popular wine.
Our very favorite to “Wiener Schnitzel”.

This Sauvignon impresses with deep mineral and citrus flavours, caper salt & black currant. A lot of limestone spices are present which leave an eternally long taste. May be drunk young, but we recommend 3-5 years bottle ageing. Long ageing potential. Warm lemon, black currant, and apricot. Delicate and fresh with a gentle minerality and a mouth-watering finale.
Goes very well with vegetables and fried fish.
The vineyard was planted by Josef Tement in the 1950s and has been since in the family’s ownership. The old vines of the south south-east facing slopes grow on massive coralline limestone soil (16 mio year old coral reef ).

Our icon and historical part of Zieregg is just as complex as life itself. Fully ripe citrus fruit, some litchi, and black currant. Firm and mineral. Fascinating from the very first sip. Citric, salty, and indefinitely long. Attractive when young, irresistible when aged.
Ried Zieregg belongs probably to one of the most famous vineyards in Austria. But for our family it is much more than an iconic flagship. It is the origin of the family history and a place of big emotion.
Oriented on average 180° south, from early morning until late afternoon in the sun; completely open to the south and therefore characterized by cool winds.
Natural spontaneous fermentation 30 months in big neutral oak casks sur lie, bottled unfiltered.
